Enjoy Lazy Time

Idea | Problem Setting | Context
By evolution of the mobile, the modern life became rich and convenience. It gets possible to cope with various problems quickly and is not formed without the mobile in life, work.
However, it is a fact that personal free time is limited by mobile. We can contact with people anywhere, and it is caused by the fact that a private becomes the situation same as public.
Originally the mobile is full loading by a function to let private fill up. However, it is very difficult to enjoy the function heartily at every place. Therefore we felt the necessity of the item to enjoy a slovenly private without minding the public eye by the slight interval and do it with this suggestion.
What is it?
It seems that a sluggard is generally the slovenly person who does not work. However, in Japan when someone gives priority to one’s private and put off work, it can be a thing considered to be the laziness. It is lazy to enjoy one’s time.
As well as Japanese, a man of today busy all the time. And they spend the most of one day in public space. Then the product to suggest this time can secure private space of public space. And it is the aim of the design to enjoy “lazy time” which is each own time while assimilating into public in public.
How it works?
We designed the item which created private space based on an umbrella
As for the product which the umbrella is portable, and is designed for an individual is because is it. And it consists of three elements to enjoy “lazy time”.
_Umbrella holder
The umbrella is installed beside busy street and in the park. When people want to use it, they can pick up an umbrella quickly and can enjoy lazy time in everywhere. And also, the umbrella can be fixed to the holder. It is a system to rent each time.
With personal mobile, ID and PW are necessary to pick up an umbrella.(The rate is a system paying with the rate of the mobile telephone.)
_Umbrella
At first we made umbrella cloth the size that all the faces could hide. The function equipped with is a camera, a mini-projector, a sound sensor, a speaker, microchip, and a pixel light. All these functions are included in the shaft of the umbrella, a runner, and a handle. And various atmospheres, entertainment are directed by these functions.
For example, it is the following situations;
- Voice mail
- Seeing a movie
- Using a camera, make up and taking a picture.
- Making the inside of the umbrella a favourite photograph, a pattern
- Making the outside of the umbrella a favourite image
- Enjoying observation (The outside of the umbrella is seen, but does not show a state of the inside from the outside).
- Using a GPS system, arriving at the destination while watching a map
All operation is controlled with a touch sensor and the button of a handle. The opening and shutting method of the umbrella adopts “lazy way” only as for falling up and down.
_ Furniture
A reclining public chair is suggested to enjoy lazy time greatly. This shape is suitable in particular to look up at the inside of the umbrella. Of course we pick up an umbrella in the street and can assume a favourite place to be lazy place.
Value & Potential
An effort is necessary so that there are going to be us naturally in the present age. And there is such an image that leaving the city with the easy life, and spend time in nature relaxed.
However, “inner reserves” is born only by oneself taking comfortable time easily. “The umbrella” which we suggested this time brings about “an unprecedented time” by mobile by the life of us that became busy by mobile.
It is the practical method of new mobile and will make our life a high quality.
