Emotional WIKI World

WHAT IS NORMAL? “Enabling technologies in the everyday environment, such as mobile communication and social networking platforms, are radically changing our daily routines on many visible and invisible levels.
They are living demonstrations of the potentiality and power of digital & electronic media in supporting and shaping our social and physical environments and alter our expectations. Products and services no longer have a purely functional roles. Rather, consumers desire more emotive and subjective qualities that touch on more complex mental models. Moreover, distinctions between the ‘real’ and ‘digital’ worlds - common even just 1 or 2 years ago - are quickly disappearing.”

The aim of EWW is to design new concepts for COMBINED physical/digital interfaces inspired by the INTERSECTION of emergent social and design values. The project, in conjunction with FUJITSU, will develop COLLABORATIVE INTERFACES which actively support practices of COLLECTIVE CREATION and management (in the WIKI philosophy) and envision innovative INTERFACES that reflect a more EMOTIONAL RELATION with users, that use a broad range of SENSORIAL QUALITIES and interaction LANGUAGES, and that exploit in new ways the relation between PERSONAL and PUBLIC interaction.

The project leaders of this final master project are Jozeph Forakis and Chiara Diana. Katrin Svabo Bech is the assistant. The I-Design Advisor is Claudio Moderini.
