Idea|Problem setting|Context
Surprise is something that happens unexpected.
Surprise could be achieved in a traditional way, in which that the designer can work on forms and shapes in order to create a surprise feeling. If we start to do something from the fundamental part like conceive a new way of thinking, we will achieve a real surprise that will not only bring surprise from the outside but also touch the deepest part of human nature. The resonance products of surprise will bring to the people who the consumer makes to think instead of feel and it?s a more profound way to construct the new things.

Lately, sustainability is a global topic of all over the world. Think about all the exhausted resources will run out in the century and the global warming problem occurs all over the world.
Therefore, sustainability is somehow a public crisis already! It is not something only the politics and scientists are dealing with.
After the research about sustainable problems, you will find many facts that are really striking and terrible and somehow you could also call it as a ’surprise’ as it hasn?t been expected. Still, most of people are not aware of that.
So as a resident of this planet, the designers should take this issue seriously and do something with the sustainable way to solve the problem. That?s why we need the new way of thinking through the whole living not just small part of our living.

All the sustainable and the global warming problems are huge and they are already been set.
We believe that we can help to solve the problem by design and let all the users are aware of the problems and make a little effect.
The project will be created the new life style with the theme of sustainability. We are thinking that by making a little bit ’surprising’ troubles can give the inform of sustainable issues to the user and also, by presenting the problems and using symbol will bring the awareness of the public.

What is it?
Our aim is to add an intangible value to products by working with symbols and applying them to everyday objects in order to achieve peoples identification with this issue. Through surprise, which is the sudden feeling of wonder or astonishment as through unexpectedness, we want to find new ways of thinking as a methodology for design. We want to draw the attention of the public to the current sustainability issue by showing the problems itself, by making them manage their consumption and by leading them to a new way of living in a sustainable way. Instead of designing products that are environmentally friendly or efficient, we want to present the message of the global problem to people so that they will think about the issue and make a change.
How it works?
Energy key
The key shows you how much you’re consuming the energy.
Display the money (euro, dollar) instead of KW for better understanding for people.
One key per one person.
2types for Children and adult.
It is the key you can use every electronics and water by sensor.
Without the key, you can’t use the electronics and water.
Swipe the key on electronics and water, it start to use on and when you swipe again, it use off. It can be used many electronics at the same time, the key counts total amount of money of consumption.

Light up number how much you’re consuming.
Numbers change the colors when the numbers goes down from green-yellow-orange-red.
When you’re consuming, the number is blinking to indicate you?re using the energy to give you the pressure. No blinking means you don’t use the energy.
Charging by activities in home by fun
Vibration like walk, run, jumping, dancing, bicycle
Rocking chair and trampoline chair
Household work like washing machine, vacuum and mopping

The aim of this key is that shows you how much money you’re consuming and you can use less energy to save the money and for sustainable life.

Trunk Tissue
As a part of basic knowledge, all the tissue paper is made of wood and it’s a main cause of the global warming. We should be aware of the problem when we use it every time. So the shape of the tissue is just take from the trunk and the section of the tissue is just like the section of a tree, all these are the metaphor refers that consuming the tissue is just the same as consuming the trees.

Earth Lamp
Most of the energy we use is from charcoal or oil, it’s a part of our earth and it’s limited which means they are exhausted resources. When we’re consuming the electricity, it’s somehow the same as consuming the earth and hurting the planet. Within this meaning, we design the lamp. Whenever you want to turn on the lamp, you must take the chisel and punch into the earth then the chisel will be illuminated and becomes the light. The position of the holes is carefully selected as they indicate the major cities of the world, which are consuming our earth most.

Rotating Gear Lamp
The lap runs on very little energy as the lamp employs the technology of light emitting diodes, or LED. Such lights use less energy and produce a brighter illumination. The rotating gear lamp can also generate electricity when you rotate the gear to switch on the lamp. After activating the lamp with the energy display key (located at the center of the gear). Rotate the gear to switch on the light and as you continue to turn the gear it will charge up the light for use. And if your energy display key has little energy left you will require more strength to turn on the lamp.

This lamp can still be run without the charging activity but the gesture of turning and rotating the gear to switch or charge on the lamp serves as a reminder that when we put an effort to turn on the lamp it is consuming energy.

Moving Bed
Making the back and forth movements of the bed will generate energy.

All of our projects are dealing with the problems of sustainability by draw attention of the public. We build up the whole living scenario in a sustainable way by managing the consumption of energy and creating the energy.
